Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG)
Hyde County identifies advanced learners through open K–12 referral and school-team screening, then connects services to academic, intellectual, and long-term goals.
How services work: K–6 students receive collaboratively developed DEPs for differentiated curriculum, instructional strategies, enrichment, and acceleration; grades 7–12 transition to career development plans incorporating courses and additional services.
How students are identified: Families, educators, students, or administrators may refer at any time. School MTSS/CARE teams review multiple measures and learner evidence, while documented in-state gifted identification is recognized for transfer students.
