Hertford County discovers and develops gifted potential through inclusive screening, differentiated services, and leadership-focused advanced learning.

How services work: Lead AIG teachers and classroom staff implement annual DEPs using differentiation, enrichment, flexible grouping, acceleration, advanced coursework, and transition support matched to each learner.

How students are identified: The district uses the NNAT3 universal screener and a multi-source learner profile. Adults with knowledge of the student may refer, and teams review achievement, classroom performance, teacher input, parent inventories, and student self-descriptions.
