Academically Gifted (AG)

Guilford serves more than 12,000 advanced learners through talent development, direct gifted instruction, and a broad secondary advanced-course continuum.

How services work: In grades 3–5, licensed AG teachers typically provide 60–90 minutes of weekly reading or mathematics enrichment in small groups; middle and high school pathways add advanced, honors, AP, IB, and early-college opportunities.

How students are identified: Formal identification begins in grade 3. Districtwide normed data, referrals, aptitude and achievement results, performance evidence, and category-specific criteria are reviewed by school Talent and Gifted teams.
