Advanced Academics / AIG
Durham Public Schools provides advanced academic services from elementary school through high school, including AIG programming and advanced secondary options.
How services work: Elementary and middle schools provide differentiated advanced learning, while high school pathways include Advanced Placement and specialized programs supported by the district's Advanced Academics office.
How students are identified: Assessment can begin as early as grade 2. The district describes an ongoing, multiple-measure process designed to be unbiased and non-exclusionary and directs families to school and central-office AIG contacts.
