Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG)
Davie County pairs early talent development with a K–12 gifted continuum delivered by school Gifted Services Teams and AIG specialists.
How services work: Elementary services include clusters, flexible groups, specialist enrichment, projects, compacting, and acceleration; middle and high school add advanced classes, honors, AP, online study, dual enrollment, and Credit by Demonstrated Mastery.
How students are identified: All second-graders receive CogAT screening and grades 3–8 receive annual achievement review. Teams combine tests, classroom performance, work, observations, behavior scales, specialist input, and alternative nonverbal measures when appropriate.
