Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG)
Cherokee County provides rigorous, differentiated instruction and talent development for gifted and advanced learners through a K–12 continuum.
How services work: Services include cluster grouping, classroom extension, specialist small groups, independent projects, advanced middle-school courses, high-school credit in grade 8, honors, AP, virtual courses, and dual enrollment.
How students are identified: Universal screening begins with K–12 academic data, and referrals are accepted from educators, families, or students. The AIG committee reviews achievement, aptitude, observations, grades, work samples, and portfolios across several identification pathways.
