Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG)
Bladen County combines early nurturing, school-team identification, and differentiated grade-banded services that address academic, intellectual, and social-emotional needs.
How services work: K–5 uses nurturing, grouping, enrichment, and acceleration; grades 6–8 add Project Challenge and high-school-credit options; high school offers clustered classes, honors, AP, online, dual-enrollment, and early-college pathways.
How students are identified: All second-graders receive aptitude screening, while grades 3–8 achievement and classroom performance feed the student pool. Educators, families, principals, or students may refer, and teams review six quantitative and qualitative indicators.
