Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG)

Beaufort County uses universal screening, talent development, and annual differentiated plans to support gifted students' academic and social-emotional growth.

How services work: Each identified learner receives a DEP covering flexible grouping, content acceleration, enrichment, and advanced learning environments alongside daily classroom compacting, tiered assignments, learning contracts, and interest-based study.

How students are identified: All third-graders receive OLSAT screening. Educators, families, AIG staff, or students may refer at any time, and the district team reviews aptitude, achievement, behavior, performance, and other evidence, including school-local top performers.
