Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG)
Alexander County identifies and nurtures advanced potential through equitable screening, school-team review, and a continuum of rigorous, engaging services.
How services work: Student DEPs align classroom differentiation, enrichment, extension, acceleration, and advanced secondary options to each identification area and level of need within the district's MTSS framework.
How students are identified: All second-graders receive CogAT screening. K–12 teams also review local assessments, achievement, aptitude, classroom history, observations, portfolios, and referrals from educators, families, or students.
