Advanced Learners / Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG)
Alamance-Burlington's district plan establishes advanced-learning identification and services across K–12, supported by school AIG specialists and family-facing grade-band guidance.
How services work: The district publishes separate K–2, grades 3–5, middle-school, and high-school service information, along with cluster grouping, acceleration, Credit by Demonstrated Mastery, summer programs, and other advanced opportunities.
How students are identified: The district maintains published referral and screening processes under its local AIG plan. Families may contact the AIG teacher at their school to discuss evidence, service options, and next steps.
