Gifted and Talented Program
Somerset develops early talent, formally identifies gifted learners, and provides school-based services supported by district and school GT leaders.
How services work: Primary Talent Development operates in PreK–1, school teams place qualifying students into services beginning in grade 3, and teacher leaders support implementation through secondary school.
How students are identified: A three-part process reviews cognitive ability, achievement, and behavior. It includes NNAT-3 screening in grade 2, MAP and MCAP data, early-talent observations, teacher behavior ratings, nominations, work samples, and a written appeal process.
