Gifted & Talented

St. Mary’s uses acceleration, enrichment, differentiated curriculum, and specialized academies to support gifted learners.

How services work: Elementary and middle-school gifted instruction leads to accelerated mathematics, Pre-AP and honors courses, AP, and four high-school academy pathways in global studies, finance, visual and performing arts, and STEM.

How students are identified: Screening begins in grade 3 using multiple measures of aptitude, potential, and achievement for reading and mathematics. At middle school, family, teacher, or student requests can initiate review, data meetings, and appeals.
