G&T / Advanced Academic Programs

Carroll provides extended curriculum and rigorous learning experiences for formally identified gifted students and highly able learners who demonstrate a sustained need for advanced work.

How services work: Primary Thinking Skills begin in PreK–2; advanced academic specialists support reading and mathematics extensions, honors instruction, flexible grouping, and later honors, AP, dual-enrollment, and other advanced pathways.

How students are identified: Universal screening in grades 2 and 6 combines CogAT, achievement data, work samples, grades, and teacher and family observations. School referral-and-review teams make identification decisions, with a published appeal process.
