Gifted and Advanced Learners
Polk School District provides rigorous programming and course pathways for learners with advanced cognitive, creative, or content needs, emphasizing critical thinking and social-emotional support.
How services work: The continuum includes gifted learner services and talent development plus advanced-content and honors courses in core subjects and foreign language for grades 6–12, followed by AP and dual-enrollment options.
How students are identified: The district maintains a dedicated gifted-identification section and directs families to their local school for qualification and placement questions. Current eligibility follows Georgia criteria and district procedures.
