Gifted Education Program
Monroe County provides differentiated gifted curriculum grounded in Georgia standards and focused on cognitive learning, research and reference, metacognition, and appropriate mastery expectations.
How services work: Students with family consent receive at least five gifted-education segments per week or the yearly equivalent, with curriculum and instruction adjusted to learner needs at each grade.
How students are identified: The district publishes school-specific referral forms and follows Georgia's mental ability, achievement, creativity, and motivation criteria. Families may submit a referral through their school and receive local guidance from Teaching and Learning.
