Gifted and Talented Education

Houston County provides differentiated gifted education that accelerates, enriches, and extends learning by modifying environment, content, process, products, and expectations for mastery.

How services work: The district uses the Advanced Content model for gifted students in grades K–12, with differentiated materials, tasks, instruction, and experiences designed around student strengths and advanced needs.

How students are identified: The district publishes family, self, and peer nomination forms plus a testing process and resource manual. Identification and placement follow Georgia requirements, with local gifted staff coordinating referrals and testing.
