Program Challenge / Gifted Services
Douglas County's state-aligned gifted program provides differentiated instruction for students with high intellectual or creative ability, with Program Challenge serving elementary learners.
How services work: Schools may use K–12 resource, advanced-content, cluster, and collaborative models, with AP in grades 9–12 and IB in grades 11–12. Building administrators select the models offered locally.
How students are identified: Students enter consideration through automatic academic screening or referrals from families, educators, counselors, administrators, students, or others. Evaluation covers mental ability, achievement, creativity, and motivation under Georgia rules.
