Target Gifted Education / Advanced Learning

Cobb County School District's gifted continuum develops self-directed learning, critical thinking, communication, collaboration, research, and advanced academic production.

How services work: Schools may use Target resource classes, advanced-content or honors courses, cluster grouping, collaborative teaching, and approved innovative models. Offerings vary by school, and accelerated content is also available to qualifying high-achieving learners.

How students are identified: Cobb follows Georgia's mental ability, achievement, creativity, and motivation criteria, with reported and automatic referral routes and family consent for evaluation and service. Verified in-state gifted placements transfer into the district.

Marietta City School District

MILE Gifted Education

Marietta Independent Learning Experiences extends, enriches, and accelerates Georgia standards through interdisciplinary work in research, creativity, problem solving, communication, emotional development, and self-directed learning.

How services work: K–2 talent development and elementary resource or collaboration models lead to middle-school advanced content, cluster, and collaborative instruction. The broader continuum includes advanced studies, IB, and other secondary options.
