Gifted Education
Miami-Dade County provides qualitatively differentiated instruction for gifted learners, emphasizing problem solving, problem-based learning, advanced content, and the application of higher-level skills.
How services work: Services are based on each student's Educational Plan. Secondary options include gifted-content, honors, Advanced Placement, gifted electives, and consultation supporting students in rigorous programs.
How students are identified: A parent, teacher, or other qualified person may refer. Plan A considers documented need, gifted characteristics, and superior intellectual development; the approved Plan B pathway uses multiple nominations and evidence sources to identify eligible underrepresented learners.
