Gifted and Talented Program
Leon County provides rigorous, enriched instruction using advanced content, complexity, acceleration, and flexible differentiation to nurture gifted learners' intellectual growth, creativity, and whole-child development.
How services work: Each school implements a comprehensive plan under the district procedural guide, with core-content and other services based on student need. School programs include advanced enrichment and differentiated services from gifted-endorsed educators.
How students are identified: Families, educators, staff, students, or other knowledgeable people may refer. Leon universally screens all second graders with STAR results and evaluates referred students under Florida gifted criteria.
