Gifted Education
Duval County differentiates instruction around gifted learners' strengths and higher-level thinking, using an interdisciplinary curriculum spanning social processes, creative expression, critical appreciation, research methods, and scientific approaches.
How services work: Students can work with a gifted teacher at least weekly or apply to gifted and academically talented magnets. Resource-center groups meet weekly, while Jacksonville Beach Elementary provides daily gifted instruction across all content areas.
How students are identified: Students qualify through Florida's gifted assessment and eligibility process. Families interested in identification or magnet placement should contact their school and follow the district's current gifted or school-choice procedure.
