How students are considered
Published processThe body of evidence may include CogAT, fall and spring NWEA results, parent and teacher SIGS ratings, secondary assessments, performance evidence, and arts measures. The district commonly considers evidence at or above the 95th percentile and permits alternate measures for multilingual learners, students with disabilities, and other underrepresented students.
What service can look like
Published modelAfter qualification, the student, family, teachers, advisor or counselor, principal, and gifted coordinator build an annual Advanced Learning Plan. Services are customized through the ALP to the student's academic strengths, affective needs, and available school opportunities.

01For Grades 3 and 6, ask when universal CogAT screening and family reporting will occur.
02At any grade, contact the gifted coordinator to submit a parent referral or request teacher referral.
03Provide strength-specific work, observations, prior assessments, accomplishments, and context for needed alternate measures.
04Ask which CogAT, NWEA, SIGS, performance, arts, or alternate evidence the team will consider and when it will decide.
05If identified, join the annual ALP process and document the academic goals, affective supports, services, responsibilities, and progress measures.
