Adams 12 families can start gifted review through the school's GT coordinator at any grade, while Grades 2 and 6 receive universal screening. The central gifted team reviews a complete body of evidence and sends families a written result.

How students are considered
Published processParent, teacher, or student recommendation begins the process. The school GT coordinator collects achievement, cognitive, behavior-scale, work-sample, portfolio, interview, and other advanced-performance evidence. One school testing date is typical each year, so the parent permission form must arrive before that date. The central AAGS team decides formal identification, talent pool, or no identification and sends a letter home.
What service can look like
Published modelEvery school offers gifted programming, and each identified student receives an Advanced Learning Plan shaped by family and student input. Services vary by level and campus; Hulstrom K-8 is the district magnet for advanced academics and gifted education. Talent-pool students receive academic and social-emotional programming while more evidence develops.

01Find the school's GT coordinator and submit the electronic nomination or parent form before the campus testing date.
02For Grades 2 and 6, confirm the universal-screening date and whether any family form is required.
03Provide parent input, work or portfolio evidence, advanced-performance examples, and relevant prior assessments.
04Ask the coordinator when the full body of evidence will reach the central AAGS team and when the decision letter will be sent.
05If identified or placed in the talent pool, review the ALP or service plan and compare campus programming with the Hulstrom K-8 option when relevant.
