Published processParents may refer or provide earlier K-8 scores, staff may recommend, and students may self-refer through their campus GATE coordinator. District-paid CogAT and NNAT testing plus achievement evidence cover verbal, quantitative, and nonverbal strengths. Scores at or above the 97th percentile qualify for full GATE services; 94th-96th percentile results and equitable-matrix cases require coordinator review.
Published modelYUHSD combines cluster grouping and faster, more complex classroom work with AP and dual enrollment, regular GATE meetings, independent projects for credit, CTE certification and Fine Arts Seal pathways, advocacy, and higher-education, workforce, and community connections. IEP, 504, and English-learner supports remain part of access.
