How students are considered
Published processA parent, guardian, teacher, principal, staff member, or student may refer. The coordinator collects parent, student, and teacher input plus grades and assessment evidence before recommending services or testing. Formal testing uses CogAT verbal, quantitative, and nonverbal reasoning; NNAT3 may support English learners, students receiving exceptional-student services, and other at-risk students. The district publishes a local service threshold beginning at the 90th percentile or highly proficient state-assessment performance.

Delivery may include pullout, cluster, self-contained, honors, extracurricular, and experiential opportunities depending on grade and campus; families should confirm the assigned configuration with the gifted coordinator.

01Submit the Gifted Education Referral Form online or through the school and ask the coordinator which testing window applies.
02Complete the parent input and permission-to-test forms promptly; make sure the teacher and student input forms are also returned.
03Provide prior test results, grades, achievement data, and transfer gifted records so the educational profile is complete before the review.
04Request the CogAT or NNAT3 scores, the eligibility decision, and the written description of services; results should arrive within 30 school days of testing.
05At annual review, compare grades and assessment evidence with the child's actual differentiated, project-based, and social-emotional supports.
