PVSchools publishes a detailed 2026-27 gifted roadmap: districtwide nomination, three annual testing cycles, exact permission deadlines and campus dates, a 97th-percentile or approved IQ pathway, K-6 delivery models, and separate applications for selective comprehensive and secondary programs.

How students are considered
Published processParents, teachers, and administrators may nominate a student. PVSchools identifies for general gifted services with a score at or above the 97th percentile in verbal, quantitative, or nonverbal reasoning, or an approved Full Scale IQ of 128 or above. Grade 2 receives universal CogAT testing, other elementary grades use fall or spring permission forms, and results normally arrive by email within two to three weeks.
What service can look like
Published modelK-3 students may receive schoolwide cluster grouping with trained teachers; Grades 4-6 receive gifted-specialist mathematics and/or reading content replacement. Select qualified students can apply for full-day Comprehensive Gifted Classrooms in K-6, with some work up to two years above grade. The district also publishes gifted preschool, Journey and Quest middle-school options, and high-school gifted pathways.

01Choose the correct district permission route: fall Grades 4-6, spring K-1 and 3-6, or universal Grade 2 testing, then use the current form before its districtwide cutoff.
02Check the campus-specific test dates and keep the confirmation because district makeup sessions accept only students already placed on the original roster.
03Review the complete results in Infinite Campus and compare each battery and any approved IQ score with the district's general service criteria.
04Distinguish basic gifted eligibility from competitive program admission: qualifying scores permit an application but do not guarantee a Comprehensive Gifted Classroom, Journey, Quest, or other placement.
05Compare the actual school option—K-3 cluster, Grades 4-6 content replacement, comprehensive classroom, or secondary pathway—and submit any separate program application on time.
