02

How students are considered

Published processArizona gifted status requires a CogAT score at or above the 97th percentile. Kingman also recognizes district gifted status at the 95th or 96th percentile and uses broader advanced-placement evidence that may include CogAT, i-Ready or AASA performance, teacher recommendation, and a site-team review.

03

What service can look like

Published modelStudents identified under Arizona or Kingman criteria are placed in advanced classes or participate in enrichment programs appropriate to their grade and school. Placement in an advanced classroom is reviewed using current performance evidence and depends on course capacity, endorsed staff, and available campus space.

Your starting checklist

Turn the published process into clear next steps.

Confirm current instructions with the district before submitting. Bloomfield does not predict placement or reproduce protected assessments.

01Ask the child's school administration for the Gifted Screening Request form and the current assessment calendar.
02For a second grader, confirm the April or May universal-screening date; for another grade, ask whether September or a case-by-case winter or spring window applies.
03Request the full CogAT score profile so you can see verbal, quantitative, and nonverbal percentiles rather than only a composite.
04If seeking broader advanced placement, ask which i-Ready or AASA results and teacher evidence the site team will review.
05After placement, confirm the specific advanced class or enrichment program and how continued placement will be evaluated.
