Lakeside accepts referrals throughout the year from families, educators, students, and community members. It uses multiple objective and subjective measures with no single cutoff, then serves students through weekly K-2 enrichment, Grades 3-6 resource-room instruction, and secondary Pre-AP/AP pathways.

How students are considered
Published processParents, teachers, school personnel, students, and community members may refer at any time. The coordinator may gather standardized, nonverbal, and school-ability tests; creativity; grades; task-commitment inventories; parent and teacher ratings; and other evidence. A committee of at least five reviews multiple criteria with no single cutoff, notifies families, and seeks consent before placement.
What service can look like
Published modelK-2 students receive at least 30 minutes of weekly whole-group enrichment. Identified Grades 3-6 students receive at least 150 minutes of weekly resource-room service emphasizing creative and critical thinking, research, and communication. Grades 7-8 use Pre-AP math or social studies with differentiated projects, while Grades 9-12 may use Pre-AP and AP courses across science, social studies, math, and language.

05Verify at least 30 weekly enrichment minutes in K-2 or 150 weekly resource-room minutes in Grades 3-6, and plan secondary Pre-AP/AP courses before registration.
