Madison County's Academic and Creative Enrichment program provides thematic, multidisciplinary pull-out learning for identified elementary students. At middle and high school, gifted and high-achieving students can use advanced courses, enrichment classes, extracurricular opportunities, and dual enrollment where available.

How students are considered
Published processMadison County directs families to its local gifted procedures, the Alabama referral framework, and the gifted teacher at the child's school. Under Alabama's process, standard referrals may occur throughout the year, all second graders are observed, and eligibility uses multiple criteria rather than one score.
What service can look like
Published modelElementary ACE is a pull-out program with content, process, products, and learning environments differentiated from general education. It emphasizes independent study, higher-level thinking, and developing original or extended products. Secondary options include advanced and enrichment classes, extracurricular activities, and dual enrollment where available.
